Liberalism Defined by Barack Obama
Illinois Senator Barack Obama Wednesday offered a new twist on the traditional liberal mantra that poverty causes crime. According to Obama it's the federal government's job to watch over American citizens so they won't commit future crimes. According to Obama:
"Look at the crime rate in [New Orleans'] 9th Ward before the hurricane. These people were abandoned long before the hurricane."

Yeah, that's what it says.
Not that the government has a responsibility to protect crime victims.
Your assertion is neither ignorant nor stupid, as some might suggest.
It is simply gratuitous. And you know it.
Obama's statement isn't about the government's responsibility to protect crime victims. The Senator is saying that before Katrina, the people of the Ninth Ward were abandoned by the government and therefore had no choice other then to turn to crime. This is a classic liberal view that dismisses personal responsibility for our own actions. It shifts the responsiblity for the choice to commit crime to society, government, economics, etc.
Bull.
You can read that statement 100 times and not find that unless you're taking a gratuitous shot at Obama -and poor blacks in general.
To suggest, as you laughably are attempting to do, that Obama is saying that governmental indifference bred necessary anarchy, is classic "just got my notes from Rush and Sean," rhetoric.
To try and push it rhetorically is silly. To believe it is stupid.
"...it's the federal government's job to watch over American citizens so they won't commit future crimes."
I saw a movie like that. Maybe Barak did, too. What was it called?
I'm not surprised.
